By the end of an apprenticeship programme, all apprentices must achieve qualifications in English and maths, known as Functional Skills.
Functional Skills enable apprentices to learn essential literacy and numeracy skills that they will apply to everyday life, supporting personal and professional development.
English and maths Functional Skills at Level 2 are equivalent to a GCSE grade 4 (grade C on the old grading system).
For all apprentices a Level 2 Functional Skill or equivalent GVSE is a mandatory requirement to pass through the apprenticeship gateway and take the end point assessment (EPA).
But, don't worry if you don't have these! We have a dedicated Functional Skills Tutor that will support you in achieving your qualifications alongside your apprenticeship, by working with you and your Development Coach.
